Defining the Characters and Key Events
Build the characters, including yourself, and decide which events are central to your story. Fiction or non-fiction?
Who are the main characters in your story? (Your past self, abusers, friends, family, mentors, God, etc.)
What are the key events that shaped your life and your story?
Discuss how to "show" versus "tell" in writing, focusing on details that create a vivid picture.
WEEK THREE
Structuring Your Story—Building the Outline
Start to structure your story, breaking it down into clear sections or chapters.
